How PSA Oxygen Plants Work?

Universal Boschi oxygen plant is fabricated with Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology which is used for separating oxygen from compressed air. PSA plant is made of main components—oxygen analyzer, PLC, adsorbent containers, balancing tank, and switching valves. When the ambient air is passed through the adsorbent container filled with zeolite nitrogen and carbon dioxide are absorbed where oxygen is not absorbed in the Zeolite because the O2 molecules have larger size and is collected as a product gas.

Technical Specifications

Purity : As per United States USP XXII & European Pharmacopeias, oxygen 93% contains not less than 90% and not more than 96% of oxygen, the rest being argon and nitrogen.

PSA Oxygen Generator Capacity : 6m3/hr to 40m3/hr delivering 30-190 cylinder per day.

Pressure : It is usually less than 5 bar for safe delivery into the piping system

As per the time set time interval, the online adsorber gets switched to regeneration mode expelling the adsorbed gas back into the atmosphere. During this PSA process, oxygen purity is monitored allowing the gas to be stored. If the purity is lower than the pre-set level, the gas is cleared till it reaches the required level of purity.

Introduction of PSA Based Universal Boschi Technology

Universal Boschi has developed highly sophisticated design of adsorption container. We use specially designed sieve adsorbents made of crystalline Aumino Silica commonly called Zeolite. PSA process is highly suitable for long-term use. And, superb automatic regeneration properties of screens ensure high quality generation of oxygen.

Piping used in the fabrication of PSA type O2 generation plants are made of high quality materials complying with ASTM B819 / BSEN 13348 standard. All components and parts used in the fabrication coming in contact with oxygen are completely purified and clean as per the NFPA99 / HTM02-01 standards. It is recommended that PSA plant should operate in completely clean environment. The plants can work between 5 to 45 degrees Celsius but they deliver optimum performance between 20-35 degrees Celsius. Installation is seamless requiring only plug and play.
